Numeracy

Pedmore High School is committed to raising the standards of numeracy of all of its students; we want our pupils to be confident and capable in the use of numeracy to support their learning in all areas of the curriculum and to acquire the skills necessary to help achieve success in further education, employment and adult life.

Students at Pedmore will be part of the numeracy ninjas form time program, completing key skills tasks once per week in their form time.  Activities are immediately assessed and provide feedback as to where they can improve. Students who require additional support will form an informal support group aimed at targeting weaker areas of numeracy basics such as mental arithmetic and times tables.

Parental support is paramount to the continued development of numeracy improvement and we offer regular sessions at school during the year for parents and carers to discuss mathematical concepts, techniques and gain an insight into how numeracy is changing in school and what this means for your children.
